          Miguel Cuni Jr.

Havana Roots is excited to announce the arrival of Miguel Cuni Jr. to the United States in July and August of this year, 2015. He will be presenting on the history of Cuban son music to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Conjunto Chappottin y Sus Estrella. He will also be performing with musicians from Cleveland, Ohio as a cultural exchange at various venues, including the Tri-C Jazz Fest Cleveland.

Miguel Cuni, Jr. is the son of the famous sonero of Cuba, Miguelito Cuni, who was a founding member of Chappottin y Sus Estrella and also sang with Arsenio Rodriquez before he left for the United States. Miguel Cuni Jr. has carried on his father's legacy by singing with the ever popular Conjunto Chappotin y Sus Estrellas for many years now. In addition, he started the project 'Son Para Siempre', which is a CD of 12 songs from the golden age of son music recorded last year with amazing Cuban players, as well as a short DVD of the recording process. The CD and DVD will be released this summer while he is in the United States.
